The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie 2 Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render services into the community.
SASSA will be rendering providers which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer care enquiries, along with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a press release, the agency stated it can be alarmed concerning the superior number of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The aim on the Integrated Registration Outreach sassa Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the higher amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“That is because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no completely functional office sassa status check focused on service the area each day. The provider position developed for intervention experiences a high inflow of likely beneficiaries, which makes it tricky with the Workplace to attend to all people who take a look at a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra methods to permit the servicing of all consumers and enhance access to Social Assistance solutions,” the agency said.
